What causes yellow and cloudy headlights?

Plastic headlight lenses have a protective surface coating. As this deteriorates, the outer surface can become yellow, rough or hazy. Restoration addresses that external deterioration. It does not repair faults inside the headlight assembly.

What is included in the service?

1. Assessment and preparation. We check the lens condition, discuss the likely result and protect the surrounding paintwork.
2. Surface restoration. We remove oxidation and deteriorated coating, then work through several sanding stages to refine the surface.
3. Polishing. We polish the prepared lens to improve clarity.
4. UV protection. We apply a protective coating and give you the aftercare instructions for that coating.

Restoration or replacement?

If the problem is on the outside of an otherwise intact lens, restoration may be suitable. Deep cracks, internal haze, moisture ingress, damaged reflectors and electrical problems require assessment for a different repair or replacement. Clear photos help us give initial advice, followed by an inspection before work starts.

How much does it cost?

We quote for your vehicle and lens condition. Send your suburb and photos of both headlights so we can confirm the work and any travel fee. You receive the price before booking.

Does it include a warranty?

The service includes a 2 year warranty covering natural failure of the applied coating. Covered failures are repaired free of charge. Damage from stone chips, impacts, abrasion or other outside causes is excluded. Read the warranty coverage and exclusions.
